This passive solar residence is nestled at the site’s tree line to maximize the dramatic quality of the street elevation. 180-degree panoramic views are captured from the main level and loft, while functioning in a passive solar manner. To allow for vehicle access the garage was placed at a lower elevation than the main level. The building’s form prevents snow from shedding on the front patio, entry, and garage. The large glass expanse is protected from the sun by a six-foot roof overhang. This highly successful project exemplifies Green Construction methodologies throughout.
