While designing the Bath House for Steamboat’s Strawberry Park Hot Springs, great care was taken to properly insert the building onto the existing grounds. The building has a unique shape that is curvilinear not only in plan but in elevation as well. This organic building form relates not only to the landscape but also the Hot Springs’ existing architectural language. Designed to be off the power grid, solar panels generate the required electrical load. To reduce the lighting load, natural daylighting was incorporated with large expanses of glass.
