Silverthorne Plan
A new master plan for the downtown area of Silverthorne was created to address the future development of the downtown and a desire to create a visitor-friendly entry corridor for the Highway Exit. Silverthorne has an inherent advantage for a new main street in that it has a riverfront potential on one side of Highway 9 and a flat street-grid on the other. New Urbanism and Form Based Code concepts were incorporated, attempted to create a downtown that would bring in a higher density residential near a core main street. New public transportation nodes and traffic-calming parking concepts make this plan able to support population growth and bring visitors to the area.
